Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program
- Certification preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare setting preferred
- Current CNA certification preferred
- BLS certification
- Basic PC knowledge and medical terminology

Job Duties
- Performs data collection accurately and promptly
- Recognizes variances in patient condition and reports promptly
- Follows the plan of care and recommends changes to meet ongoing patient needs
- Provides care related to patient needs and well-being
- Participates in shift report as a team member to address patient needs
- Documents data collection, tasks performed, and patient response accurately
- Reports abnormal data findings immediately
- Provides blood glucose monitoring and notifies nursing of results
- Monitors patients receiving blood or blood components
- Monitors patients on fall precautions
- Provides interventions within scope of practice including simple dressing changes, vital signs, I&O, foley catheter care, feedings, treatments, specimen collection, linen changes, activities of daily living, turning, and hygiene assistance
- Applies, replaces and removes monitoring electrodes and telemetry packs
- Assists with preparation and transport of patients
- Demonstrates familiarity with emergent and non-emergent patient categories
- Maintains accurate inventory of unit supplies
- Utilizes communication systems correctly
- Reports problems to Clinical Supervisor or Manager
- Maintains confidentiality of medical records
- Enters patient transfers/discharges into computer system within 15 minutes
- Maintains universal chart order
- Performs other duties as assigned
