Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum one year's experience in crisis and/or behavioral health intervention services in settings such as community outreach, public safety, mental health or substance use treatment agencies, assertive community treatment, or emergency departments
  • minimum 20 hours of crisis intervention training within first 90 days
  • must pass background screenings
  • maintain CPR/First Aid certification
  • availability for weeknight or weekend/holiday shifts
  • minimum four shifts per month

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • demonstrated ability to manage time to meet deadlines
  • ability to recognize and identify symptoms of mental illness and suicide risk potential and respond appropriately
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement and emergency medical services
  • assist individuals and families in identifying and implementing strategies to de-escalate a current behavioral health crisis
  • develop treatment plan in partnership with the client and other staff to introduce new services and resources to the individual and family
  • be primarily responsible for connecting the individual and family to community resources, benefits, and clinical services
  • work as part of a team with other crisis team staff to provide coordinated services
