Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical setting
- Experience with computerized appointment scheduling systems such as EPIC
- Knowledge of electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Familiarity with third party payor reimbursement processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Ability to collaborate professionally with diverse teams
- Proficient in public relations and patient communication
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Two or more years of directly related experience in a medical setting
- Previous experience using computerized appointment scheduling systems (EPIC preferred)
- Experience with electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ideally EPIC-Care
- Working knowledge of third party payor reimbursement including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and commercial insurance
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Highly collegial and adaptable to a changing work environment
- Proficient public relation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally to build rapport with others at all levels of responsibility
- Ability to handle sensitive medical and personal information with the highest level of discretion
- Ability to build and nurture effective working relationships with physicians and colleagues
Job Duties
- Assist with the development, launch, and ongoing improvement of preventative and longevity-focused initiatives
- Serve as a single point of contact to guide patients through the care process, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience
- Field telephone inquiries and electronic messages from patients
- Make, reschedule, confirm, and cancel appointments for both new and existing patients
- Obtain, review and update patient demographic and insurance information within EMR
- Verify insurance coverage prior to the patient's appointment
- Manage patient expectations for all appointments and provide information to patients regarding their visit
- Ensure that patients provide any pre-visit documentation, pre-certifications or authorizations, and/or referrals if required
- Upload all related documentation into patient electronic medical records
- Handle front-end revenue cycle processes including patient check-in/check-out and collection/reconciliation of time-of-service payments
- Assist with coordination of follow-up care, including scheduling laboratory/diagnostic tests, scheduling with specialists, forwarding prescription requests and medical concerns for triage
- Deliver a concierge-level experience through attentive communication, proactive problem solving, and coordination of logistics to ensure smooth transitions and access to care
- Provide an excellent patient care experience and intervene promptly to resolve concerns and improve service
- Collaborate with internal and external healthcare providers, clinical faculty, partners and patient family members to deliver a high-quality, patient-centered experience
- Report barriers to access that may impact patient or project outcomes
