Job Requirements

  • USCG Merchant Marine Master’s license 100 ton or greater
  • TWIC card
  • minimum of two years experience operating twin outboard powered vessels greater than 30 feet in length
  • local resident of Mobile County
  • US citizenship
  • ability to respond to assigned dock location timely

Job Qualifications

  • USCG Merchant Marine Master’s license 100 ton or greater
  • TWIC card
  • minimum of two years experience operating twin outboard powered vessels greater than 30 feet in length
  • military experience preferred
  • Coast Guard or Navy experience highly desired
  • general PC knowledge including spreadsheet and word processing software
  • strong interpersonal skills and good judgment
  • ability to work alone or in a team
  • stability under pressure and ability to withstand physical demands and unpredictable weather

Job Duties

  • Monitor preparation of vessel and equipment
  • ensure safe and effective operation of the vessel
  • ensure safety equipment is utilized and guidelines followed for task safety
  • apply knowledge of shipboard safety procedures and firefighting equipment
  • participate in meetings, training, drills and safety audits
  • support tactical boat maneuvers and aerial delivery recovery missions
  • perform other duties as assigned
