Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Sommelier through reputable organization
  • Previous sommelier experience in luxury or upscale setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Sommelier through reputable organizations such as CMS or WSET
  • Previous experience as a sommelier in a luxury restaurant or upscale hospitality setting
  • Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, vintages, and wine production
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and educate guests
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to wine service standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively with culinary and service teams
  • Passion for wine and delivering extraordinary guest experiences

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain an exceptional wine list that complements the resort's culinary offerings
  • Source and select wines from global regions considering varietals, vintages, and flavor profiles
  • Interact with guests to understand preferences and assist in wine selections
  • Provide in-depth descriptions of wines including tasting notes, origin, and food pairings
  • Conduct wine seminars, tastings, and educational sessions for guests and staff
  • Train staff on wine service and knowledge
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine and food pairing menus for events
  • Manage the wine cellar including storage, rotation, and inventory control
  • Keep records of wine purchases, stock levels, and sales data
  • Plan and execute wine-focused events
  • Maintain relationships with wine distributors and suppliers
  • Inspect wines for quality and condition before service
  • Perform additional duties as needed
