Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work assigned shifts including early mornings, evenings, and nights
- Physical ability to perform yard duties and operate hostler trucks
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a hostler driver or in a similar role preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to hostler truck operations
- Ability to operate hostler trucks safely and efficiently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Physical stamina for demanding work environment
Job Duties
- Safely operate hostler trucks to move containers and trailers within the terminal yard
- Follow dispatch instructions and prioritize tasks
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on hostler trucks
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe terminal yard
- Ensure proper storage and stacking of containers and trailers
- Perform basic maintenance on trailers and containers
- Accurately record container and trailer movements and complete required paperwork
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct regular checks of safety equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, gate clerks, and other terminal personnel
- Collaborate with yard personnel to coordinate container placement and retrieval
