Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • completed college courses or camp experience preferred in fields dealing with people with disabilities
  • demonstrated leadership skills consistent with camp policies
  • driving preferred with current license and DMV check
  • provide documentation confirming legal right to work in the USA
  • experience with individuals with disabilities desired
  • hold or obtain current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Adult and Pediatric certification
  • agree to abide by AbilityFirst rules and policies
  • pass background check and pre-employment physical including drug screening
  • must be able to lift 75lbs and perform rigorous daily care
  • must reside on camp premises during sessions
  • comply with mandated reporter requirements

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise all programming activities
  • organize and facilitate camper activities and evening programs
  • manage program staff to plan, promote, and carry out day activities and evening programs
  • meet daily with program staff
  • supervise, direct work and evaluate program staff
  • act as a resource person for all staff
  • report to the Camp Director and collaborate with supervisors
  • attend and assist in planning staff training and summer preparation
  • assist with staff training in camp programming
  • provide support to Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director
  • work in cabins and support staff with camper care when needed
  • serve as Supervisor on Duty during staff breaks
  • accept responsibility for tasks during emergencies as assigned
  • assist in planning staff party
  • complete program staff performance evaluations
  • perform other duties as assigned to support the mission
