The City of League City, Texas, is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Parks Recreation Department as Part-Time Camp Counselors. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Experience with kids 2-15 years old
  • Ability to swim
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Experience with kids 2-15 years old
  • Ability to swim
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred
  • Previous camp or child care experience preferred
  • Experience with sports preferred
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the requisite knowledge and abilities may be considered

Job Duties

  • Be responsible for the safety and well-being of participants
  • Assist in the supervision of all camp field trips
  • Work cooperatively with Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director, camp counselors, maintenance staff, and parents
  • Maintain discipline with children during all activities under handbook guidelines
  • Follow all City of League City policies and procedures
  • Keep the Camp Director appraised of situations requiring attention
  • Attend trainings, seminars and meetings as required
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested and necessary
  • Work hands on with kids between the ages of 2-12 years old in a variety of activities
  • Mentor campers ages 13-15 years old in the counselor-in-training program by providing guidance and support
  • Provide regular feedback to program coordinator to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of programs
  • Work with Camp Director during the school year to support youth programs including Homeschool PE, Adaptive Programming, Kids Night, Day Camps, School Break Camps, Outdoor Recreation, and other new programming
  • Provide services during emergency situations that threaten safety of citizens
