Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • must have high school diploma or equivalent work/education experience
  • must have minimum 1 year of work experience in food service industry
  • must have ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • willingness to be trained in operating kitchen equipment
  • willingness to be trained and follow food service sanitation practices
  • must be able to have and maintain positive relationships with all customers
  • must be able to stand on feet for extended period of time
  • walk stairs
  • lift up to 50lbs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent work/education experience
  • minimum 1 year of work experience in food service industry
  • previous experience as a cook preferred but not required
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • willingness to be trained in kitchen equipment operation
  • willingness to follow food service sanitation practices
  • ability to maintain positive relationships with customers
  • ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of food preparation including cooking and serving food according to set standards
  • utilize a variety of cooking techniques such as baking, sautéing, grilling, steaming, frying
  • use a variety of kitchen equipment including slicers, ovens, griddles, mixers, knives
  • ensure quality control of food products
  • maintain a clean kitchen at all times
  • understand menu planning details and substitute items as needed
  • assist with other kitchen duties such as dishwashing when necessary
  • stock and rotate inventory
  • follow and maintain health department standards for food service
  • maintain temperature logs on all refrigerators and freezers
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
