Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- At least six months experience in fresh production area
- Ability to successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within prescribed time
- Commitment to complying with safety and sanitation regulations
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Commitment to providing excellent member service
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in cake decorating highly preferred
- Six months experience in fresh production area or bakery environment
- Strong artistic and decorating skills
- Ability to follow recipes and measurement instructions accurately
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle and operate bakery equipment safely
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic math skills for pricing and measuring ingredients
Job Duties
- Clean and maintain the bakery area including work surfaces, windows, mirrors, display cases, and coolers by following company policies
- Operate and sanitize food-related equipment
- Stock and display food products properly
- Utilize approved chemicals, supplies, tools, and equipment
- Maintain merchandise presentation by stocking merchandise, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays
- Remove damaged goods and sign and price merchandise appropriately
- Ensure design inventory is available for member decorating options
- Secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise
- Prepare bakery department merchandise based on daily production needs ensuring consistent quality and accuracy
- Follow recipe measurement instructions
- Utilize specialized decorating skills to complete company approved designs
- Work with decorating bags, tips, and nozzles to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items such as cakes, cupcakes, and pies
- Follow members' orders and specifications using appropriate designs, colors, and utensils
- Wrap, label, and store merchandise properly
- Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying their needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, and using selling techniques to promote department sales
- Take bakery orders in person or by phone
- Locate merchandise and manage production to ensure members orders are delivered on time
- Keep sales area and backroom in stock
- Resolve issues and concerns
- Maintain safety of facility by following all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines including safety sweeps and forklift spotting procedures
- Maintain the sales floor in the bakery area by properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages
