Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain the same
- successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- knowledge of basic math
- ability to handle stressful situations
- operate bakery equipment according to guidelines
- proficient with computer applications
- possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain same within 180 days
- ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
- ability to understand and follow English instructions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in bakery or cake decorating
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- knowledge of basic math
- ability to handle stressful situations
- ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun
- proficient with computer applications used in operating the department
- possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
- ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
- ability to understand and follow English instructions
- authorization to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
- ensure the bakery department is merchandised per plan
- deliver daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for freshness, quality and value
- offer product samples and answer product questions
- fulfill customer requests and special orders
- maintain an efficient and organized method of receiving and processing customer orders
- decorate bakery items per customer request using decoration kits and freehand skills
- process and bake merchandise according to production guidelines
- proof products to ensure quality assurance
- review product quality for sell by dates and take necessary actions
- check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake
- receive and unload delivery truck and store products
- stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control
- restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste
- maintain inventory awareness and report discrepancies
- ensure product is held at proper temperature and retain temperature logs
- promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating and communicating
- guide and empower team to meet or exceed goals
- adhere to all safety and regulatory compliance requirements including food safety, USDA and COOL
- execute product recalls and withdrawals timely
- reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
- notify management of accidents and illegal activities
- ensure all associates work safely and have received training
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
