Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain same
- successful completion of pre-employment drug test and background check
- ability to operate bakery equipment according to guidelines
- strong customer service skills
- ability to handle stressful situations
- ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
- compliance with company policies and procedures
- ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
- ability to use computer applications
- possession or ability to obtain Food Safety Certification within 180 days
- willingness to travel up to 80% if assigned as a floater
- capable of lifting up to 35 lbs and pulling up to 250 lbs
- availability for varied shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0-3 years of relevant supervisory experience
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- knowledge of basic math
- ability to handle stressful situations
- proficiency in operating bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters and pricing guns
- proficient with computer applications used in bakery operations
- possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of hiring
- ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
- ability to understand and follow instructions
- knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
Job Duties
- Create a welcoming environment for customers to increase confidence and loyalty
- merchandise the bakery department per plan
- deliver daily conditions that meet company standards for product availability, freshness, quality and value
- offer product samples, answer questions and assist customers
- fulfill customer requests and special orders
- maintain an organized method of receiving and processing customer orders
- decorate cakes and bakery items using kits and freehand skills
- complete daily and weekly communications and training tasks
- process and bake merchandise according to guidelines
- proof products for quality assurance
- review product freshness and take necessary action
- stock and rotate products to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- monitor inventory and report discrepancies
- ensure product temperature compliance with food safety guidelines
- promote teamwork and trust among associates
- ensure compliance with safety, sanitation and food handling standards
- execute product recalls and ensure the removal of affected items
- report safety risks, accidents and illegal activities
- maintain equipment safety and report hazards
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
