Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain same
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to operate bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Proficient with computer applications used in department
- Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
- Ability to handle physical demands including lifting up to 35 lbs
- Ability to work varied shifts
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to decorate cakes and baked goods with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety practices and ability to obtain certification
- Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- Proficient in basic math
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work varied shifts
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Produce high quality decorated cakes, pastries, cookies and other bakery items according to company standards
- Assist in daily bakery operations ensuring product freshness, quality, and availability
- Create welcoming customer service environment and handle special orders
- Use decoration kits and freehand skills to decorate bakery merchandise
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain documentation of temperature logs
- Receive and unload delivery trucks, stock and rotate bakery products
- Operate bakery equipment including slicers, ovens, scales, and cutters
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the bakery work area
- Report safety hazards and adhere to company policies
- Promote teamwork and communicate effectively with bakery associates
