Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years’ experience in decorating
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment
- Ability to work full time at the Bethlehem, PA location
- Capacity to handle physical tasks such as trimming and cake decoration
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and health standards
- Good communication and customer service skills

Job Duties
- Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand
- Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about various products and preparation of cakes
- Helps resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner
- Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude
- Determines what the customer is looking for in terms of size, flavor and appearance
- Creates the finished decorated product in timely fashion
- Decorates cakes and other bakery products using dye, specific designs or by creating custom designs
- Uses variety of creams, frostings and fillings with consistent outcome
- Makes icing for cakes and other related products
- Adheres to company approved recipes
- Trims and cuts cakes to required shape and size
- Spreads icing between layers and on cake surface
- Tints white icing to required colors
- Assists in filling and merchandising the bakery sales area while adhering to production logs
- Creates cakes, pastries, etc. for sale in service case
- Follows rotation and mark down policies to ensure quality and freshness
- Helps maintain inventory levels with proper ordering and proper production logging
- May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack if properly trained
- May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained
- Responsible for general sanitation in the department
- Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements
- Disposes of trash properly
- Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors
- Responsible to continuously improve job performance
- Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc.
- May also be called upon to assist in other departments
