Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of pastry and/or cake decorating experience preferred
- current Food Handler's Permit
- must enjoy working with and handling bakery products
- should have a passion for pastries and other bakery items and enjoy eating them
- ability to read and follow a recipe
- basic math skills used to half or double recipes
- knowledge of baking, setting, and assembling procedures and times for pastries
- ability to interpret policies and procedures
- excellent organization and planning skills
- solid communication skills including verbal and listening skills
- ability to accept constructive review and be accountable
- ability to make logical, significant decisions
- must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons' mission and commitment to working collaboratively
- ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Job Duties
- Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
- ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
- responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the bakery
- confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
- ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
- delivers excellent customer service to all customers
- follows production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons' cakes
- mixes, bakes, assembles, and decorates cakes for sale and to keep as back-stock, quickly and efficiently
- decorates cakes for sale and for custom orders
- make frosting to be used for cake decorating
- communicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Bakery Manager
