Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, twisting, crouching and reaching
- Ability to perform repetitive motions requiring eye, hand and foot coordination
- Ability to stand, walk and bend throughout the workday
- Ability to maneuver heavy objects up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to work in varying temperature conditions
- Authorization to work in the country
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in bakery or cake decorating preferred
- Good knowledge of bakery products and processes
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for pricing and inventory management
Job Duties
- Possess knowledge of basic bakery terms and processes such as fermentation, bench time, proofing and effects of temperature variations on bakery items
- Assist in making orders for bakery ingredients and supplies and maintain inventory levels in accordance with department and store policy
- Fill, rotate, arrange and merchandise displays and display cases
- Possess knowledge of pricing, dating and wrapping or bagging of all bakery products
- Possess knowledge of bakery items, descriptions and ingredients to better serve guests and answer questions
- Process larger tier cake orders including taking orders, producing cakes and ensuring final accounting of accessories
- Maintain inventory of novelties and supplies necessary for cake decoration
- Assist in receiving and storing bakery products
- Produce other bakery items as directed by the Bakery Merchant
