Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of pastry and/or cake decorating experience preferred
- current Food Handler's Permit required
- ability to work mornings and daytime hours
- ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- physical ability to stand, walk, bend throughout the workday
- ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- strong communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of pastry and/or cake decorating experience preferred
- current Food Handler's Permit
- ability to read and follow a recipe
- basic math skills used to half or double recipes
- knowledge of baking, setting, and assembling procedures and times for pastries
- ability to interpret policies and procedures
- excellent organization and planning skills
- must possess solid communication skills including verbal and listening skills
- ability to accept constructive review and be accountable
- required to make logical decisions using general techniques
- must possess integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
- continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, forward focused, and consistent
- ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Job Duties
- Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
- ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
- responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the bakery
- confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
- ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
- delivers excellent customer service to all customers
- follows production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons' cakes
- mixes, bakes, assembles, and decorates cakes for sale and to keep as back-stock, quickly and efficiently
- decorates cakes for sale and for custom orders
- make frosting to be used for cake decorating
- communicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Bakery Manager
