Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of prior experience in bakery or cake decorating
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, proofers, pallet jacks, pan washers, slicers, balers, compactors, jelly pumps, and computerized label machines
- Ability to follow strict food preparation and safety guidelines
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Ability to handle customer inquiries politely and professionally
- No travel required
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in a bakery setting
- Cake decorating experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions for equipment, and procedure manuals
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Ability to write routine reports
- Good vision
- Ability to speak clearly and affably
Job Duties
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service as you ensure that cakes are decorated and ready for customers to purchase or pick up
- Take direction and adhere to strict food preparation guidelines
- Properly handle and store equipment at all times
- Clean the decorating area before starting and after finishing work
- Help answer customers' questions about cake options and take orders as needed
- Maintain compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Use bakery tools such as knives, piping bags, and airbrushes to decorate cakes
