Job Requirements
- must be 18 years of age
- authorization to work in the united states or ability to obtain same
- successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- knowledge of basic math
- ability to handle stressful situations
- operate bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- proficient with computer applications used in operating the department
- possession of food safety certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of placement
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged preferred
- 0 to 3 years of bakery or food preparation experience preferred
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- knowledge of basic math
- ability to handle stressful situations
- proficiency in bakery equipment use including slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun
- proficiency with computer applications used in department operations
- possession of or ability to obtain food safety certification within 180 days
- ability to read, write and speak english proficiently
Job Duties
- create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
- ensure the department is merchandised per plan
- deliver daily conditions that meet the companys expectations for product availability, freshness, quality and value
- offer product samples and assist customers
- fulfill customer requests and special orders
- maintain an efficient and organized method of receiving and processing customer orders
- decorate merchandise per customer request ensuring satisfaction
- use decoration kits and freehand decorating skills
- complete daily and weekly tasks including communications and online training
- process and bake merchandise according to production guidelines
- proof products to ensure quality assurance
- review product quality and sell-by dates
- check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake
- receive and unload delivery trucks
- stock and rotate products to ensure freshness
- restock and use supply items efficiently
- maintain awareness of inventory stocking conditions
- ensure products are held at proper temperature per food safety guidelines
- promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating and promoting teamwork
- adhere to all legal and company guidelines
- ensure company standards for safety, food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained
- execute all product recalls and withdrawals timely
- reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
- notify management of accidents and illegal activities
- ensure adherence to wage and hour policies
- cultivate a culture of safety
- ensure all associates have received necessary safety training
- report and assist with remediation of safety hazards
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
