Job Requirements

  • Appreciation and respect for Catholic Church and its teachings
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in food service preferred
  • Experience supervising others preferred
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Good vision including color and peripheral vision
  • Ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Two years experience in food service in a comparable facility preferred
  • Experience supervising or directing the work of others preferred
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Knowledge of customer service principles
  • Teamwork and team building skills

Job Duties

  • Oversees operation of a large cafeteria including maintaining the kitchen budget in conjunction with the School Administrator
  • Consults with Pastor or School Administrator when determining menus and scheduling cooking
  • Oversees and manages government lunch program when applicable
  • Checks grocery and supply needs and orders as needed to restock pantry
  • Prepares and cooks food including washing, trimming, seasoning, baking breads, and preparing desserts
  • Determines when food is fully cooked using established guidelines and directs distribution of food
  • Supervises cafeteria workers and coordinates cooking personnel assignments to ensure economical and timely preparation
  • Practices and instructs kitchen safety techniques ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality of kitchen and equipment
  • Performs all related duties
