Job Requirements

  • Able to lift objects between 5 and 60 lbs
  • Able to stand for periods of time between 3.5 and 6 hours
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands
  • Ability to push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Ability to chop, dice, and slice various foods
  • Ability to tolerate temperature extremes from -10F to 100F
  • Ability to work in humid environments and around machinery
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Ability to read and write in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in food service or cafeteria work is advantageous
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion sizes
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment after training
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Prepare food according to standardized recipes when required
  • Serve food using the proper utensil at the correct portion size
  • Prepare specific foods based upon known food allergies according to approved health and diet plans
  • After training, properly operate all kitchen equipment
  • Practice proper sanitation and safety procedures
  • Maintain good personal hygiene and cleanliness
  • Properly sweep and mop floor using wet floor signage
