Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service or cafeteria management preferred
  • ability to lead and supervise a team
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work occasional nights and weekends
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • proficiency in multitasking
  • ability to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  • valid sanitation certification or willingness to obtain within first year

Job Qualifications

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions
  • must complete a sanitation course before or during the first year
  • must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • maintain emotional control under stress

Job Duties

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets
  • direct daily activities
  • maintain food production safety and quality following policies and procedures
  • ensure safe and organized food storage
  • maintain serving schedules and food service according to menu specifications
  • uphold sanitary conditions following health and safety codes
  • maintain accurate weekly inventory
  • prepare orders to ensure accurate production
  • supervise and evaluate employees
  • promote employee growth and teamwork
  • maintain a safe working environment
  • train and mentor food service workers
  • maintain equipment maintenance logs
  • complete food safety and temperature logs with corrective actions
  • perform preventative maintenance checklist
  • recommend replacement of equipment
  • multitask effectively
  • perform duties assigned by Food Service Director or Manager
  • fill in for absent employees
  • manage daily catering events
  • work occasional night and weekend catered events
  • attend food service meetings
  • maintain communication with staff
  • perform cashier duties as needed
  • promote good public relations
