Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 2 plus years in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry required
  • 1 plus years having worked in a supervisory role or leading a team required
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required
  • Valid Food Handler’s Card preferred and willing to obtain within first 30 days

Job Duties

  • Direct the team to execute the approved menu 100 percent every day
  • Ensure every student participating in the meal program takes a reimbursable meal
  • Ensure all methods of counting and claiming are compliant
  • Observe that counting and claiming is happening at time of service
  • Check that all counts of student meals are accurate
  • Enter all counts correctly into internal trackers and PrimeroEdge
  • Recruit top notch Food Service Specialists and Substitutes candidates from the area
  • Hold weekly employee huddles on topics varying between operations and nutritional matters
  • Review and submit employee timesheets every Tuesday for accurate bi-weekly pay
  • Use Staff Development Cycle to provide timely feedback and support for performance and growth
  • Develop Cafeteria Assistant Manager for potential promotion
  • Develop Food Service Specialists with leadership potential for promotion
  • Ensure each meal is delivered on time and serving lines are ready and fully stocked
  • Conduct and coordinate Breakfast in the Class audits targeting 100 percent compliance accuracy
  • Prepare all recipes as designed by HQ CNP and report errors or suggestions to Nutrition Team
  • Ensure all menu items are available to all students
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere in cafeteria, kitchen, and service points
  • Execute recipes and follow food storage best practices to ensure quality and safety
  • Follow best practices in menu presentation and participation promotion
  • Use campus parent events to promote meal program advantages
  • Refer to Healthy Kids Here self-assessment checklist for guidance
  • Promote consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables through food prep and display
  • Rotate milk to ensure freshness for all students
  • Decorate serving lines with colorful and nutritional signage appealing to students
  • Implement and maintain salad bar for College Prep students where approved
  • Follow designated menu daily, avoiding unapproved items
  • Adhere to food service operation policies and state guidelines
  • Track compliance changes and implement updates
  • Correct non-compliance issues promptly
  • Seek guidance from HQ CNP on finance, nutrition, and operations as needed
  • Complete daily food production records
  • Model professionalism and high conduct standards for colleagues and students
