Job Requirements

  • Ability to complete needs list accurately
  • Must be able to accurately check in food and paper orders
  • Knowledge of standard food storage requirements
  • Ability to estimate inventory need in advance
  • Knowledge of Health Department standards and the ability to maintain them
  • Knowledge of high volume batch cooking
  • Ability to maintain kitchen morale
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Carry, move and stock supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must practice and maintain proper personal hygiene

Job Duties

  • Ensure that weekly orders are placed in a timely manner
  • Prepare meals for the daily menu (Elementary School)
  • Maintain accurate service records
  • Check and verify, upon acceptance, all kitchen deliveries
  • Train staff to perform assigned tasks
  • Assign tasks to cafeteria staff
  • Ensure that proper sanitary standards are maintained in kitchen
  • Perform first tier cash audit of daily sales
  • Communicate on a daily basis with the FSD or AFSD
  • Maintain contact with building administration
