Job Duties

  • Clean utensils, equipment, and storage areas for sanitary conditions
  • estimate food preparation amounts and adjust recipes to meet meal requirements and minimize waste
  • evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature
  • implement menu plans for daily nutritional requirements and catered events
  • inspect food and supply deliveries for quantity, quality, and health compliance
  • inventory food, condiments, supplies, and equipment regularly
  • maintain equipment and food areas in compliance with health standards
  • manage site operations including supervising personnel and monitoring meals
  • order food, equipment, and supplies to maintain adequate inventory
  • oversee preparation, cooking, serving, and transportation of food and beverages
  • participate in unit meetings, training, and workshops
  • perform other nutritional services roles as needed
  • prepare documentation such as production sheets and reports
  • process receipts and bank deposits
  • handle free and reduced meal applications
  • reconcile transactions
  • respond to inquiries about food services
  • schedule work hours and assignments for cafeteria staff
  • serve mandated nutritional food items
  • stock food and supplies securely
  • supervise food service workers including orientation and training
