Job Duties
- Clean utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas for sanitary conditions
- Estimate food preparation amounts and adjust recipes to meet meal requirements and minimize waste
- Evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature to ensure acceptance
- Implement menu plans to meet students' daily nutritional needs and event requests
- Inspect food and supply deliveries to verify quantity, quality, and compliance with health standards
- Inventory food, condiments, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock for menu requirements
- Maintain equipment and food areas in sanitary condition to comply with health regulations
- Manage site operations including supervising personnel, monitoring meals, and evaluating menus for compliance and efficiency
- Order food, equipment, and supplies to maintain adequate inventory within budget
- Oversee preparation, cooking, serving, and transportation of food to meet meal quantities and standards
- Participate in meetings and training to convey and gather relevant information
- Perform functions of other nutritional services positions as needed
- Prepare documentation such as production sheets, reports, and cash summaries
- Process receipts and bank deposits
- Handle free and reduced meal applications to determine eligibility
- Reconcile transactions to maintain account balances
- Respond to inquiries about food items and service policies
- Schedule work hours and assignments for cafeteria employees
- Serve food items in compliance with nutritional requirements
- Stock food and supplies to maintain quantity and security
- Supervise food service workers for workforce efficiency and shift coverage
