Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic methods of preparing and serving foods
- knowledge of use and care of common kitchen utensils and equipment
- knowledge of cleaning methods appropriate for equipment and surroundings in a food preparation area
- ability to learn to operate cafeteria equipment
- ability to follow oral and written directions
- ability to learn to prepare foods and to perform related duties of the position
- ability to count money and make change
- ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
- no prior experience required
- persons with knowledge and abilities as stated considered to have necessary education
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of foods to a minor extent including mixing salads, making dressings and sauces
- scrapes, stacks, and moves dishes
- washes dishes, utensils, and equipment
- places food on counter or in steam tables
- operates and cleans equipment such as electric mixer, dishwashing machine and food choppers and slicers
- disposes of waste
- washes woodwork, tables, and counters
- serves at steam tables
- works at banquets and special meals
- acts as cashier
- does related work as required
