Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in large quantity food preparation and serving preferred
- Ability to perform routine duties under direct supervision
- Ability to understand, interpret, and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to add and subtract using decimals and fractions
- Ability to work varying shifts and locations
- Ability to obtain a ServSafe certificate
- Must pass an approved pre-placement medical assessment

- Knowledge of institutional quantity food preparation, cooking methods, procedures and service
- Basic understanding of weights and measures

Job Duties
- Prepares, assembles, counts, cleans, slices, cuts, or portions food items including fruits, vegetables, frozen and cooked items
- Assembles standardized portions of food items, places on food carts, assists in delivering meals to classrooms
- Participates in arranging café service lines and individually packaged food items for easy selection by students
- Serves food items according to specified portions and menus while following food handling procedures
- Operates kitchen equipment such as commercial food processor, mixer, slicing machine, dishwasher, and warming oven
- Assists in receiving, inspecting, storing, and rotating inventory
- Cleans, washes, sanitizes kitchen equipment, food preparation and service areas, and floors to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
- Serves as a point-of-sale cashier and assists in compiling daily receipts
- Works with custodial and maintenance staff to ensure kitchen and equipment efficiency
- Attends required meetings and trainings
- Performs additional duties as assigned that support the position's overall objectives
