Job Requirements

  • Culinary arts degree preferred
  • 2 to 5 years experience in similar culinary roles
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Fluent in English
  • ServSafe certification
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Ability to adapt to changing food and beverage demands

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in culinary arts preferred
  • 2 to 5 years experience in a 4-5 star hotel or independent restaurant
  • Banquet experience desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques
  • Basic knife skills
  • Food safety knowledge
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepares, seasons, cooks, and arranges all food items including soups, meats, vegetables, and ready-to-eat food for consumption in the Employee Cafeteria
  • Maintains adequate supply of all prepared and purchased products and ensures proper storage and refrigeration
  • Advises supervisor of low inventory, assists in ordering, receiving items and taking inventory
  • Ensures spoilage and wastage are minimized by proper quantities and product rotation
  • Maintains a clean and well-organized work area including coolers, countertops, and dish area
  • Follows opening and closing checklists for daily menu production
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with all colleagues
  • Uses basic kitchen equipment including electric deli slicer, mixer, and convection oven
  • Refills condiment containers within the cafeteria
  • Assists stewarding in maintaining overall cleanliness
  • Supports other outlets with prep tasks as needed
