Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a cafeteria or food service environment preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare set-up and salad bar items
  • set-up hotline with food retrieved from kitchen
  • maintain the cleanliness of cafeteria kitchen and seating areas
  • restock condiments and paper goods as necessary
  • date all food containers and rotate as per policies
  • check pars for shift use
  • determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
  • note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables
  • assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems
  • control food waste, loss and usage per policies
  • clean and sanitize china, glass, and silver using a dish machine
  • maintain the sanitation of all major kitchen equipment, culinary and food and beverage facilities
  • maintain the silver polishing
