Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Food Handler's Certification
- Texas State Food Service Association Certificate preferred
- Completed a sanitation course either before or during first year
- Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances in food preparation
- Ability to manage personnel
- Effective planning and organizational skills
- One year experience in institutional food service operations preferred
- Ability to work prolonged standing, frequent kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds
- Willingness to work in a commercial kitchen environment exposed to hot and cold temperatures, noise, vibration, and various hazards
- Maintain emotional control under stress with frequent interruptions
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Assist in supervising the campus food service team
- Train new and existing personnel on food service procedures
- Manage food preparation quantities to meet service needs
- Ensure compliance with city and state health codes
- Oversee sanitation and food safety practices within the kitchen
- Maintain inventory and proper use of kitchen equipment
- Communicate effectively with staff to maintain a positive work environment
