Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a line cook in restaurant, hotel, club, healthcare, or contract cooking
  • Knowledge of food codes and HACCP required
  • Ability to perform medium work involving lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
  • Maintain a customer-focused demeanor
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
  • Able to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates degree preferred, preferably in Culinary
  • Minimum 4 years experience in restaurant, hotel, or club as a line cook or minimum 4 years experience in healthcare or contract cooking
  • Certification in ServSafe Food Protection Manager preferred
  • Knowledge of food codes and HACCP guidelines
  • Skilled in various food production methods including baking, frying, grilling, sauteing, and steaming
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and carry out oral and written instructions accurately
  • Ability to interact warmly with customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office preferred
  • Basic math skills

Job Duties

  • Assist the Lead Line Production Cook/Team Leader with daily cafe station operations
  • Perform productivity audits and identify training needs to ensure quality and productivity
  • Prepare food for patients, visitors, and staff per daily menus and HACCP guidelines
  • Prepare cafeteria orders according to recipes and special customer requests
  • Assemble final plate presentation following department guidelines
  • Interact and support patients, families, hospital staff, and food service team with cafeteria orders in a professional manner
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment according to department guidelines
