Job Requirements
- Vocational or technical training preferred
- ServSafe Manager Certification required or within six months of employment
- Minimum one year of food service experience in quantity food preparation or production
- Previous hospital food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to work twelve-hour shifts
- Physical ability to perform job duties including standing and moving frequently
- Strong communication and mental assessment skills
- Proficient in computer and office technologies
- Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training preferred
- ServSafe Manager Certification required
- Minimum one year of food service experience in quantity food preparation or production in hospital or extended care facility preferred
- Previous experience in hospital food preparation highly preferred
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Ability to demonstrate clinical judgment related to food service
- Proficiency in computer technology including MS Outlook and Word
Job Duties
- Prepare meals for patients, cafeteria, and special functions using proper production systems
- Delegate daily assignments and responsibilities to café staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in food preparation and service areas
- Adhere to Singing River Health System procedures, policies, and healthcare accreditation standards
- Collaborate effectively with other employees to promote teamwork
- Monitor food safety standards and ensure compliance with ServSafe guidelines
- Assist in coordinating special event catering within the health system
