Job Requirements
- Full-time employment
- availability Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:30pm
- compliance with all Somerville and Massachusetts safety regulations
- physical ability to perform cooking and cleaning tasks
- effective communication and customer service skills
- flexibility and sense of humor
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in kitchen or café setting
- strong time management and organizational skills
- ServSafe Food Handler certification
- friendly dependable and self-motivated
- current driver’s license in good standing
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook daily menu items ensuring quality consistency and food safety
- manage café operations including opening and closing duties customer service and cleanliness
- order receive and manage inventory of food beverages and supplies
- maintain compliance with Somerville and Massachusetts health and safety standards including ServSafe guidelines
- handle basic bookkeeping tasks such as balancing the register and tracking sales
- keep equipment kitchen and front-of-house areas clean and organized
- adapt to changes or modifications in duties as required
