Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- 1 to 3 years experience in commercial or institutional food preparation preferred
- SERV-Safe Certification or equivalent certification from Virginia Health Department required or ability to obtain within year one
- extensive communication, customer interaction, and teamwork skills required
- must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position
- keyboarding or computer skills helpful
- ability to multi-task and perform duties as assigned
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation helpful
- cleaning and other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepares food according to standard recipes and/or standard retherm process
- completes required documentation including temperature logs according to requirements
- participates in department activities and meetings including orientation, patient/customer satisfaction initiatives, cost reduction initiatives, and inspection readiness
- completes general food service tasks such as cashier, tray assembly and/or delivery, and dishwashing with related cleaning
- applies basic knowledge and advanced skills related to patient care
- resolves most issues and problems and refers complex cases to supervisor
- works under general supervision with limited impact to department or service line
