Job Requirements

  • Must be legal drinking age or older
  • completion of mixology, barkeeping, or related training required
  • at least one year of related experience preferred
  • ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • ability to complete orders quickly and accurately
  • ability to lift at least 15 pounds
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult customers
  • must be able to learn cash register software used by the bar or restaurant

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or related training

Job Duties

  • Contributes to departmental and property monthly guest satisfaction goals by providing exemplary service
  • greets customers warmly using their names and learns frequent customers preferences through the CRM system
  • takes personal responsibility to resolve guest complaints to their satisfaction using the Quore tool
  • promotes safe alcohol consumption by educating customers and explaining menu items
  • cross promotes other dining options such as Red House Tavern and The Shop
  • prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks according to established recipes
  • verifies legal drinking age by checking photo IDs
  • attracts new customers to generate additional revenue
  • maintains all bar equipment and preps garnishes before opening
  • displays glasses and liquor attractively and keeps bar stocked with snacks
  • receives orders and processes payments
  • maintains a clean and orderly work area and completes scheduled cleaning tasks including dishwashing
  • serves food to customers at the bar
  • adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • submits orders and participates in inventory
  • contributes ideas for daily, holiday, and themed drink menus
  • uses judgment to refuse service to intoxicated or disruptive patrons
  • assists in orienting new employees and instructs on equipment use and cleaning methods
  • improves quality and appearance of the café and hotel through process evaluation
  • identifies sales leads from guest information and communicates to sales team
  • prioritizes safety and security and follows emergency and OSHA/HAZCOM procedures
  • maintains regular attendance and wears required uniform and name tag
  • performs other duties as assigned
