Job Requirements
- Age 18 or older
- minimum one year experience in residential youth camp
- demonstrate creativity in arts, culture, health, fitness, and outdoor activities
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to engage with diverse groups
- obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- one or more years' experience working in a resident youth camp setting
- creativity and knowledge in subjects such as arts, culture, health, fitness, and the outdoors
- ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse ages, backgrounds, and experiences
- First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire
Job Duties
- Provide excellent service to program participants, ensuring their needs are met
- prioritize participant safety by following emergency and safety protocols
- build respectful, meaningful relationships with staff, parents, and campers
- maintain a professional appearance and conduct in interactions with others
- foster connections among campers and with the YMCA community
- ensure health, hygiene, and safety are top priorities for all campers
- support campers in understanding and appreciating their environment
- recognize and encourage campers for personal growth and positive behavior
- supervise and live with a cabin group, following the camp schedule to meet campers' needs
- plan and lead engaging activities that support personal growth and social skills
- maintain appropriate camper discipline according to camp standards
- keep camp and cabin areas clean and encourage respect for facilities and the environment
- ensure compliance with YMCA, American Camp Association, and all local, state, and federal standards to provide a safe and positive experience for campers and staff
- submit reports, including incident reports, health logs, and timecards accurately and on time
- actively participate in cabin, unit, and camp-wide activities, and assist in program areas
