Job Requirements

  • 1+ or more years of experience working with youth

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent service to program participants ensuring their needs are met
  • foster connections among campers and with the YMCA community
  • build respectful meaningful relationships with staff parents and campers
  • recognize and encourage campers for personal growth and positive behavior
  • support campers in understanding and appreciating their environment
  • prioritize participant safety by following emergency and safety protocols
  • ensure health hygiene and safety are top priorities for all campers
  • ensure compliance with YMCA American Camp Association and all local state and federal standards
  • supervise and live with a cabin group following the camp schedule to meet campers' needs
  • plan and lead engaging activities that support personal growth and social skills
  • maintain appropriate camper discipline according to camp standards
  • keep camp and cabin areas clean and encourage respect for facilities and the environment
  • maintain a professional appearance and conduct in interactions with others
  • submit reports including incident reports health logs and timecards accurately and on time
  • actively participate in cabin unit and camp-wide activities and assist in program areas
