Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years old
  • legal right to work in the United States
  • valid passport for unrestricted international travel
  • pass full medical and background checks
  • must be able to meet arm reach requirement of 208cm
  • maintain impeccable grooming standards with no visible tattoos
  • fluent in English
  • willingness to attend paid training in Tokyo
  • flexible availability for variable schedule including long-haul flights

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • college degree preferred
  • fluent in English
  • fluency in Japanese highly desired
  • ability to meet arm reach requirement of 208cm on tiptoes
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to maintain grooming standards with no visible tattoos in uniform
  • strong sense of responsibility and grace
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Ensure passenger safety and security by adhering to civil aviation and company regulations
  • Conduct pre-flight safety inspections and provide safety demonstrations
  • Handle in-flight emergencies calmly and efficiently
  • Deliver signature Omotenashi service by anticipating and responding to passenger needs
  • Serve authentic Japanese and international cuisine
  • Maintain a calm and respectful cabin environment
  • Act as a global ambassador for Japan Airlines' brand and values
