Job Requirements
- Alcohol beverage certification preferred
- Food safety certification
- Of legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
- Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
- Continuous repetitive motions
- Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
- Minimum grade 12 education
- One year of bartending experience
- Two years of comparable wait server experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- Minimum grade 12 education
- One year of bartending experience
- Two years of comparable wait server experience preferred
- Skilled at slowing and refusing alcoholic beverage service when necessary
- Basic knowledge of club’s POS system or comparable POS system preferred
- Knowledge of department and daily club operations including events and hours
- Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Ability to work large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and required role during emergencies
Job Duties
- Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available
- Request additional supplies as necessary and stock the bar
- Prepare garnishes, fruits, mixes, and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening
- Greet members and guests
- Mix, prepare, and serve drinks according to approved standard recipes
- Maintain records of liquors, beers, and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained
- Clean and lock the bar area following closing procedures
- Ensure food items are stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent health or safety hazards
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Follow all laws and club policies regarding alcoholic beverage service
- Efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly manner, offering suggestions
- Place orders with kitchen and inform cooks about special instructions
- Assemble food on tray and serve meals by courses
- Check back to ensure guest satisfaction
- Remove soiled dishes, clear tables, and reset with appropriate silverware
- Present dessert menus and serve dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks
- Verify accuracy of prices, taxes, tips, and charges on checks
- Present bills and handle cash and credit card charges
- Keep dining and bus station areas clean
- Clear, clean, and reset vacated tables
- Complete other work assignments as requested by supervisor
