Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years mechanical equipment experience
  • Mechanical service experience in a field role
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Valid California driver’s license maintained at all times
  • Ability to travel frequently including weekends
  • Must pass randomized drug testing as a safety-sensitive position
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows programs

Job Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical background with two years of field experience and customer interaction
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate well and interface with customers
  • Knowledge of drawings, blueprints, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical assemblies
  • Minimum of five years experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, welding, and machine tool operation
  • Knowledge of process control systems including utility control and measurement of steam, water, and air
  • Food industry experience preferred including aseptic systems and sterilization equipment
  • Proficient in PC skills including Word, Excel, email, and Windows-based programs
  • Technical or trade school degree desired
  • Self-starter with a minimum of supervision required and professional conduct
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Ability to travel often on weekends
  • Safety-sensitive position subject to randomized drug testing

Job Duties

  • Install, service, and maintain JBT’s leased or sold equipment at customer sites
  • Complete and submit records and reports to the service coordinator promptly
  • Order and report parts shortages and assist in maintaining an orderly stockroom
  • Assist other technicians with installation, removal, or major mechanical changes of equipment
  • Deliver parts and equipment to customer plants as directed by service management
  • Manage equipment overhaul to meet JBT and customer performance standards on schedule
  • Promote and maintain positive business relationships with external customers
