Job Requirements

  • Mechanical service experience with and without supervision
  • Ability to manage sole shift responsibility at customer sites
  • Timely completion and submission of service reports
  • Inventory management skills
  • Teamwork in assisting other service technicians
  • Ability to deliver parts and equipment
  • Equipment overhaul management
  • Customer relation skills
  • Knowledge of fruit processing machinery
  • Compliance with customer safety and conduct regulations
  • Attendance at customer operational meetings as needed
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Ability to travel including weekends
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and conduct
  • Safety sensitive position subject to drug testing
  • Proficient PC usage
  • Technical or trade school education preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical background with at least two years of field experience and customer interaction
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interface with customers
  • Knowledge of reading and understanding technical drawings, blueprints, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical assemblies
  • Minimum five years experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, welding, and machine tool operation
  • Knowledge of process control systems including utility control for steam, water, and air
  • Desired food industry experience, particularly with aseptic and sterilization equipment
  • Proficient PC skills in Word, Excel, email, and Windows-based applications
  • Technical or trade school degree desired
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision required
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Ability to travel often on weekends
  • Willingness to undergo randomized drug testing as the position is safety sensitive

Job Duties

  • Have sole shift responsibility at a single customer site maintaining JBT’s equipment as directed
  • Complete or assist in completing records and reports and submit them timely
  • Order or report parts shortages and maintain an orderly stockroom
  • Assist other technicians with installation, removal, or major mechanical changes on machinery
  • Deliver parts and equipment to customer plants as directed
  • Manage equipment overhauls to meet company and customer standards on schedule
  • Promote and maintain positive business relationships with external customers
