Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- three months’ experience in clerical or customer service preferred
- specific certification or licensing based on state requirements
- basic computer knowledge and skills
- ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- strong customer service skills
- strong organizational skills
- ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations and manuals
- ability to understand verbal instructions
- ability to read numbers and perform basic mathematical calculations
- effective communication skills
- ability to work day and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts frequently
- attendance and punctuality
- use of all required personal protective equipment
- ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five pounds
- ability to bend, stoop or kneel
- occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens
- ability to view video display terminal for up to four hours
- ability to work in temperatures as low as -40C
- occasional exposure to dry ice
- ability to perform precise tasks requiring small motor skills

Job Duties
- Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations
- maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience
- maintain cleanliness of work area and stock supplies
- maintain donor center equipment and perform routine maintenance
- monitor donor conditions ensuring donor comfort and safety
- maintain donor confidentiality
- maintain accurate record keeping
- troubleshoot machine alarms and perform quality controls
- clean blood or plasma spills and handle biohazardous waste
- perform other job-related tasks
- ensure donor meets eligibility criteria
- perform donor vitals evaluation
- perform finger stick for Microhematocrit and Total Protein determination
- register applicant donors
- set up and prepare equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis
- disconnect donor after plasmapheresis
- maintain proper ratio for donor safety
- operate automated plasmapheresis machines and respond to machine alerts
- collect and store plasma product and samples
- handle tested and untested product
- organize samples and product storage
- prepare product and samples for shipment
- monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and report issues
