Job Requirements
- Be 18 years of age
- possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- able to speak, read, and write English
- able to follow verbal and written instructions
- able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- able to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance
- able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks
- able to pass a pre-employment physical and annual physicals thereafter
- provide evidence of immunization
- free from communicable disease
- able to complete all DoD training requirements within specified time including orientation and annual ongoing training
- able to maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certifications
- may need to obtain government driver's license
- willing to undergo random drug testing as position is Test Designated Position (TDP)
Job Qualifications
- Be 18 years of age
- possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- have the ability to speak, read, and write English
- follow verbal and written instructions
- communicate effectively orally and in writing
- be able to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance
- prior experience working with children or youth preferred
- able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks
- pass pre-employment and annual physicals
- provide evidence of immunization
- free from communicable disease
- must complete all DoD training requirements including orientation, initial, virtual lab school training, ongoing training, and certifications
- maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certifications
- able to obtain a government driver's license if required
Job Duties
- Serve as a Child and Youth (CY) Program Assistant in one or more Child and Youth Programs (CYP)
- Maintain control and account for whereabouts and safety of children and youth
- Assist in providing and leading planned activities for program participants
- Perform routine simple child-care tasks following step-by-step instructions
- Help establish a program environment promoting positive interactions
- Prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials
- Administer medications and basic care items according to prescribed procedures
- Observe participants for signs of illness, abuse, or neglect and report as directed
- Supervise participants during scheduled activities, field trips, outings, and events
- Promote safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices
- Assist in maintaining program participation data and completing required reports
- Complete required training and participate in program evaluation
- Ensure compliance with DoD policies and standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
