Job Requirements

  • be 18 years of age
  • possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • ability to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance
  • ability to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care background checks
  • pass pre-employment physical and annual physicals
  • provide evidence of immunization
  • be free from communicable disease
  • complete all DoD training requirements including orientation, initial and ongoing training, and required certifications
  • maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid certifications
  • subject to random drug testing as a Test Designated Position
  • comply with workplace policies on drug use

Job Qualifications

  • be 18 years of age
  • possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • ability to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance
  • prior experience working with children or youth preferred
  • ability to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care background checks
  • pass pre-employment and annual physicals
  • provide evidence of immunization
  • maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid certifications

Job Duties

  • serve as a child and youth program assistant in one or more child and youth programs
  • maintain control and account for whereabouts and safety of children and youth
  • assist in providing and leading planned activities for program participants
  • perform routine simple child-care tasks following step-by-step instructions
  • help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials
  • interact with participants using approved guidance and development techniques
  • supervise participants during indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, outings, and special events
