Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Schedules service appointments
- greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information
- writes up customer's vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order
- test drives vehicle with customer as needed to confirm problems or refers to test technician
- refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service
- advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications
- provides complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts
- establishes promised time and checks with dispatcher if necessary
- obtains customer's signature on repair order and provides customer copy
- establishes customer's method of payment and obtains credit approval if necessary
- notifies dispatcher of incoming work
- checks progress of repair and contacts customers regarding changes in estimate or promised time, explaining costs and obtaining proper authorization before additional repairs
- implements and maintains service marketing program
- reviews repair orders to ensure work completion and additional work authorization
- ensures vehicles are parked in assigned areas, locked, and keys marked and put away
- keeps service department forms, menus, and pricing guides updated
- explains completed work and charges to customers
- implements quality control process to eliminate comebacks
- maintains high customer satisfaction standards
- handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process
- inspects vehicles for body work, informs customers if needed, and provides estimates
- supervises cleaning and prepping of new and used vehicles
- maintains professional appearance
- keeps work area clean
