Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education equivalent (GED)
  • Two years of prior experience in a related position
  • California Food Handler's Certification required
  • Ability to walk and stand during entire shift
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work assigned schedule

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education equivalent (GED)
  • Two years of prior experience in a related position
  • Experience in a resort hotel preferred
  • California Food Handler's Certification required
  • First Aid, CPR and defibrillator certifications preferred
  • Commitment to quality and exceptional customer service
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member
  • Ability to meet standards of personal appearance

Job Duties

  • Walk and stand throughout entire shift while serving guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and professional manner
  • Convey information clearly and evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Clear, clean and reset tables as needed
  • Perform work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or move objects
  • Know restaurant organization, job functions, menus and specials
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties to keep tables and side stands stocked, tidy and clean
  • Sweep, mop and vacuum floors ensuring restaurant area and hallways are free from debris and return room service trays to kitchen for breakdown
  • Assist with basic food preparations as instructed
  • Wash dishes and maintain clean work environment per health and safety standards
  • Keep kitchen area, floors, walls and equipment clean
  • Uphold high standards of personal appearance, wearing proper uniform and nametag
  • Perform banquet setup, tear down and service assignments
  • Maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests by following hotel safety and security procedures
  • Report unusual occurrences and requests to Manager on Duty
