Job Requirements

  • minimum of one year experience as a fine dining bus person in a contemporary dining restaurant
  • must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • valid Nevada Alcohol Awareness Card or ability to obtain
  • valid Nevada Food Handler Safety Training Card or ability to obtain
  • exceptional personality and hospitality driven attitude
  • highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at a time
  • polished, professional, friendly, dynamic and able to multitask
  • initiative in a vip driven and guest service focused environment
  • "sense of urgency" attitude for the completion of responsibilities/tasks
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • proficiency in English
  • dedicated and willing to go above and beyond

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • knows and executes the service guidelines outlined in this manual with extreme attention to detail
  • promotes the company’s high level of service standards by exhibiting friendliness and a hospitable attitude
  • displays full knowledge of the restaurant, McClain Camarota Hospitality Group and its history, and current/upcoming/past menus
  • possesses knowledge of menu items, ingredients (history and other culinary uses), garnishes, cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and textures
  • capable of professionally and artfully explaining this information in full detail to guests
  • acts as a liaison between the service staff and the kitchen regarding special requests or restrictions
  • efficiently delivers food from the kitchen to the guest
  • communicates counts of items and 86’s of items to food servers, bartenders, hostesses, and managers
  • communicates the needs of the guests to the kitchen and management
  • informs management of guests’ reactions and comments
  • works closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure efficient timing of food
  • remains calm and responsive under pressure
  • continuously focuses on the guest and task at hand
  • able to execute all tableside “moves”
  • able to lift and carry heavy trays throughout the restaurant
  • maintains kitchen mis en place and assists in plating set-up and breakdown at the beginning and end of each service
  • maintains a neat and orderly expediting area
  • constantly ensures that the expedition side of the kitchen is clean
  • sets up and closes the expediting kitchen station
  • helps promote a safe and clean environment for co-workers and guests
  • ensures health code compliance
  • assists in maintaining the proper level of service on the floor, and at the bar, at all times
  • acknowledges and welcomes guests in the restaurant space whenever possible
  • acknowledges guests’ meal/occasion when at the table and stays present to assist with any requests upon serving them
  • operates as a member of a team, helping others and requesting help as needed
  • performs other restaurant duties as requested by management
  • assists management as needed to ensure smooth operation and quality service
  • subtly clears and perfectly resets a table within 5 minutes of the guests’ departure
  • checks each table for completeness of setting, and ensures that all settings are straight, spotless, and presentable
  • checks dining area, tables, and chairs for cleanliness
  • maintains cleanliness and organization of service stations and service areas
  • stocks the stations with folded linen, plates, polished silverware, polished glassware, and filled pitchers throughout the shift
  • maintains trash and sanitation buckets in the side stations
  • maintains back and pos stations
  • anticipates guests’ needs
  • maintains a safe and clean environment for guests and co-workers
  • picks up debris and cleans any spills or grease on the floor
  • rearranges chairs, tables, and other restaurant furniture as directed
  • provides coffee, tea, soft drink, and water service with specified set-ups
  • delivers guests’ non-alcoholic drink orders within 5 minutes of the order
  • delivers drink orders to the seat numbers specified, always using open body language
  • assists in setting the restaurant as needed for special events
  • greets guests and helps them into their seats
  • brings in and stocks inventory orders
  • informs management of items that need to be ordered
  • uses the guest’s name when appropriate
  • conveys any guest needs or orders to the server
  • performs side work and other duties requested by management
