Job Requirements
- Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds
- ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a food service or customer service role preferred
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a server preferred
- must successfully complete restaurant's training course
- excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately
- ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices
- ability to operate point-of-sale systems
Job Duties
- Greet incoming customers, answer phone calls and customer questions and requests
- receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits
- issue refunds, voids, or credits to customers with manager approval
- count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
- calculate total payments received during a time period and reconcile this with total sales
- prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, blended coffee, and tea, to patrons, correctly customizing orders as requested
- maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
- complete general cleaning duties such as cleaning tables, chairs, and floors
- remove dirty dishes, set tables, replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware condiments and bread
- empty trash cans
- assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints
- restock and roll silverware and assist with stocking stations
- answer questions related to drinks, menu, bakery and catering
- check with guests to make sure that they are enjoying their meals and be initiative-taking to correct any problems
- take food and beverage orders and deliver them to the kitchen
- deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers
- ensure that food is prepared correctly and to customers satisfaction
- return incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen
- collect plates and clear the table as customers finish their meals
- perform other related duties as assigned
