Job Requirements

  • 18 years of age or above
  • Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of food runner experience and sanitation knowledge preferred
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals
  • Conversational English required
  • Ability to write instructions and present information
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting or maneuvering at least 50 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods
  • Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect business needs
  • Must maintain health and safety standards
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests and team members

Job Duties

  • Ensures all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
  • Participates in departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of guest tables including polishing glassware, silverware, and china
  • Stocks all mise en place before, during, and after service
  • Transports food from kitchen to guests using hand-carried or tray techniques
  • Performs customer service duties such as bread service, water and non-alcoholic drink service, coffee and tea service
  • Communicates effectively with hosts and other team members regarding seating and guest service issues
  • Maintains health code and safety standards
  • Works closely with chefs to prepare garnishes and special plating setups
  • Assists Gourmet Food Server with supportive tasks
  • Organizes and polishes plates and serving utensils in the expeditor station
  • Performs cleaning duties for restaurant floors, carpet, and service stations
  • Maintains par levels of dining supplies and equipment
  • Familiarizes with menu items to explain dishes to guests
  • Performs any other assigned duties
